Will Amrit be able to overcome the
prejudice surrounding him? And will the Singh family need to run away from
their secrets yet again? Come and see the show to find out.
The Fifth Cup is
written by Rena Dipti Annobil and Reena Bhatoa and is directed in
association with Harvinder Sohal (her previous stage plays include “Anum”
and “Udham”). The cast include a range of talented local actors. The
production is supported by the CasteWatchUK and sponsored by Arts Council

MOSSHA
OF
SAHIB SHRI, SHRI, 108 SAT GURU GIAN NATH JI MAHARAJ
Dear
Brothers and
Sisters,
The
purpose of this letter is to inform you that we are in the process of performing the
Mossha of Sahib Shri, Shri, 108 Sat Guru Gian Nath Ji Maharaj, to commemorate
the transition of Sat Guru Ji from the physical world into the spiritual realm.
This
auspicious and respectful ceremony will be held at the
Bhagwan
Valmik Tirath
Dhuna Sahib
Raja Sansi, Amritsar
On
2nd , 3rd
and 4th December 2006
The
ceremony is a three day event, preceded by HARAR POOJA on a date to be fixed one
month earlier, during the first week of November. The event concludes on Pooran
Namashi Maggar, commemorating Sat Guru Ji’s transition in 1987.
The
event will be graced by thousands of Sadhus from all over India, who will be
given alms and duly honoured. Public attendance could run to hundreds of
thousands, with continuous bhajans, kirtan, and langar featuring over the three
days.
All
Sabhas, Sangats, other Organisations, and members of the public are cordially
invited, and we respectfully ask that you publicise this once in a life time,
spiritual event, vigorously. Please therefore place copies of this notice in
appropriate locations.
Sahib
Shri, Shri, 108 Sat Guru Gian Nath Ji Maharaj was born in a Valmiki family, and
was a pure devotee, worshipper, and promoter of Bhagwan Valmik Ji Maharaj. Sat
Guru Ji’s popularity amongst all communities, and individuals from all walks
of life who sought his blessings was a testament to his pure, life and highly
evolved spirituality.
Our
community owes a great debt to Sat Guru Ji’s intuition and illumination of
mind, which brought insights to the Valmiki community, about the teachings of
Bhagwan Valmik Ji Maharaj. This has uplifted the Valmiki community, giving
today’s Valmiki’s lives honour and meaning. Sat Guru Ji was a benefactor to
humanity.
Sat
Guru Ji attained utter harmony, standing face to face with reality and things in
their pure nakedness and subtlety. Thus discovering the truth which lies beyond
the reach of thought and sense. He amplifies the limitations of man’s knowledge
and experience.
Sat
Guru Ji Maharaj came to the ancient site known as Ram Tirath during the period
of the British Raj. Historically, this is one the most fascinating places in
northern India, and also one of its most ancient and legendary sites in the
Punjab. Bhagwan Valmik Ji Maharaj wrote his celebrated epic, the Ramayana, at
this hallowed site of "Amrit". It was here, too, that Sita stayed
during the period of her vanavasa (banishment). Here again, the sons of Lord
Rama, were taught by Bhagwan Valmik Ji Maharaj and this is where the whole of
Lord Rama's army was destroyed by them, (Lava and Kusa); and restored to life by
Bhagwan Valmik Ji Maharaj's amrit.
Initially
Sat Guru Ji was not allowed on the site, as local Brahmins were in control of
it. However through his determination and perseverance Sat guru Ji
single-handedly reclaimed the site for the Valmiki community. Sat Guru Ji
suffered great hardships in the course of achieving this result including being
falsely imprisoned with forty - five other sadhus. However the grace of Bhagwan
Valmik Ji was present with him at all times, and as a result he was released
from prison and able to succeed in his task, to bring dignity and recognition to
the Valmiki community throughout the world.
Sat
Guru Ji’s greatest accomplishment was his propagation of the name of Bhagwan
Valmik Ji Maharaj, through Asia and Europe, which uplifted the Valmiki
community. It gave us the confidence, self–respect and motivation to uphold
the name of Bhagwan Valmik Ji Maharaj.
As
you will be aware this Mossha will be the first of its kind to take place within
the modern Valmiki Community, therefore I must stress the importance of this
rare event. The event will be costly so please consider this to be a request for
contributions from your Sabhas, the Valmiki community, and the public. All
donations, large, or small would be most appreciated.
We
do hope you can support this auspicious event both by attending and/or offering
financial assistance.
Should
you require more information please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the
other members.
Yours
truly,

"We
all live of the exchange of thoughts, solidarity and friendship which
always transcends boundaries of ethnicity and community."
Central Valmik Sabha, U.K. , is going to inaugurate
International
Conference
on the 9 & 10 April at
Aston University in Birmingham.
People
from my community are always looked down upon due to their illiteracy
and bound to dirty jobs. Through
the media vicious venom is being spread to mar his highly dignified
character. Undertaken
projects that are aimed to trace its true history. Fortunately, the
intellectuals and wise heads from the community have moved on and a
lot of research has taken place in order to rediscover the lost glory
of this group of people.
Central
Valmik Sabha (UK) is organizing an International Seminar on Lord
Valmiki and YogaVashistha and Ramayan at Aston University in
Birmingham. This International Conference is to take place on 9th and
10th of April and scholars from various universities,
Intellectuals & wise heads from the community across the
world are taking part in this conference to update the knowledge
reading through their research papers.
The
main Spirit behind this Conference is to explore the excellent
philosophy of lord Valmiki and make the people aware of its
importance. It has attracted the well versed Scholars in the field of Sanskrit,
Philosophy and religion from the different parts of India & Abroad
who have contributed their research papers on the different aspects of
YogaVasistha eg. JIVA, ATMA, MANAS, JAGAT, BRAHM, Concept of ego,
Vairagya, Bandhan & Moksha etc.
We would
like to welcome everyone to update their knowledge.

(Click on the following

The place gets a special mention in the
great Hindu epic "Ramayana". It was here that Sita came after Rama
deserted her. It was here that the great saint Maharishi Valmiki gave her
shelter and protection. Mata Sita gave birth to "Lav"and blessed
with "Kush".
Maharishi Valmiki conducted them to highest
levels in education in the realms of religious and social life besides
intricacies of warfare. There
is a large sacred tank that is said to have been dug by Hanuman. There is a
big festival here yearly in November.
